How can Honeybee Psychology help my child?

Kathleen offers support when a child’s family and school have concerns about their learning, social inclusion or emotional wellbeing in school. Kathleen specialises in working with neurodivergent children and young people, with or without a formal diagnosis.

Kathleen offers comprehensive assessment in the areas of:

  • Cognition and learning
  • Identifying specific learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyscalculia
  • Information processing and working memory skills
  • Executive function, attention and self-regulation
  • Social relationships and social communication needs in school
  • Emotional factors in learning, such as anxiety and developmental trauma
  • The educational impact of neurodivergence, such as autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia
  • Supporting young people with complex needs and planning for the future

Kathleen works in partnership with parents and schools, so that assessments address your questions and concerns.

Assessments might include the following:

  • Assessment activities with your child. These include standardised psychometric assessments and assessments of your child’s curriculum attainment. Assessments also include informal activities such as talking, puzzles, games and drawing tasks.
  • A classroom or playground observation
  • Consultation with parents, key members of school staff and other professionals

Following the assessment, Kathleen offers a feedback and next steps consultation with parents and key members of school staff, either at the end of the assessment morning or online. This is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss the report and plans next steps.

Kathleen provides a comprehensive written report which details your child’s strengths and needs and makes recommendations for future support and provision. Most families choose to share the report their child’s school.

How much does the service cost?

The assessment fee is £950. This is payable prior to the assessment by bank transfer.
